EN 15620 Compliance – Measured Globally by Certified Experts

Whether you’re preparing a new warehouse floor or validating an existing one, floor flatness plays a critical role in the safety, efficiency, and performance of your operations. Even minor deviations can lead to unstable vehicles, damaged goods, or costly downtime. Especially when working with defined movement systems.

So how can you be sure your floor meets the requirements of these demanding systems?

There’s only one way! Measure it properly according to EN 15620:2021.

The Compliance Risk You Can’t Ignore

EN 15620 is the European standard that refers to FEM 10.2.14 / 4.103 – 1, and by extension to the VDMA standard, defining strict floor flatness criteria for defined movement environments where industrial (VNA) trucks operate.

It’s the only flatness standard worldwide that takes all relevant undulations into account, from short to medium-long waves, ensuring forklift driving behavior remains predictable and safe. Failing to comply can have serious consequences:

Unstable (VNA) forklift trucks

Malfunctioning guidance systems

Corrections are needed after installation

Yet many still rely on outdated or visual inspection methods, leaving compliance to chance. Without reliable data, you’re operating in the dark, with significant impact your Total Cost of Ownership.

The VDMA flatness requirement was copied in the FEM 10.2.14 / 4.103 – 1 in 2018 and in the European standard EN 15620. It is therefore an official European flatness standard that must be met.
